About Lorie

All my life, I’ve wondered at how people fall into the routines of life. The paths we travel seem to be well-trodden by society. We go to school, fall in love, find a line of work (and hope and pray it is one we like), have children and do our best to mold them into good people who will make the right choices in life. This is what everyone so wisely refers to as the “real world”. The characters in my books are destined to stray down a different path other than what society suggests. Each story leads the reader into a world altered slightly from the one |
| they know. For me, this is what good fiction is about, an opportunity to escape from the daily grind and wander down a path we feel isn’t readily available to us. I can’t remember a time when I didn’t love writing. Whether it was notes in a classroom or a thank you note to grandma I always loved watching words appear on paper. But when I started putting my imagination on that blank white sheet, I knew I’d discovered something amazing. I don’t remember my exact age when I wrote that first story. I still have it, written in pencil in a spiral notebook but the first story isn’t dated. I believe I was ten or eleven.I went to college, got jobs, cleaned house and put meals on the table, but all of those were simply actions required in life. My true passion was writing. It took five years once I started submitting manuscripts to publish my first book. I’ve published books with seven different publishers over the years and currently write for three publishers. Use the drop down box to the left to check out all of my books.I live in Kansas with my three boys and two dogs, a Boston Terrier and Beagle.
Below are articles, interviews, or commentary I’ve been asked to write. The Prolific Writer (writing full time doesn’t have to be a dream) Interview and Discussion about HEA.
